JOHANNESBURG – The price of a bribe for police officers is steeped in risk.
A Johannesburg Metro Police Department officer has been arrested in Protea Glen, Soweto after he allegedly accepted a R10 ‘cooldrink bribe’.
JMPD says the department won’t tolerate corruption.
JMPD spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar said, “if you look at the past two weeks already seven officers arrested.”
“The chief of JMPD said he will not accept any form of corruption.”
“This officer was spotted red-handed by the officers… they saw where he was standing was not safe they turned around to go inform him and saw him take the money…for a mere R10 he’s lost his job, it’s very sad”
